Yet, there are hidden figures making waves, moving needles, and shifting narratives by leveraging the power of community and collective investment. Join Nneka Ukpai and Ashley Flucas to learn proven strategies for success in angel investing and how to catalyze innovation and maximize ROI through early stage investing.
Ashley brings a track record of over 250 start-up investments. She founded Flucas Ventures, a syndicate of ~4,000 venture capital investors (and growing) that has deployed $100M+ since July 2020. She also serves as a partner at a South Florida-based real estate finance fund with over $3B deployed, representing $15B+ in real estate development. She was previously part of the ownership of the sporting arena Nassau Coliseum in New York with a successful exit in 2023. Prior to founding Flucas Ventures, Ashley was an attorney at Davis Polk & Wardwell, focusing on capital markets. Her experience spans real estate, venture capital and the gamut of capital markets - debt and equity, IPOs, SPACS, bond offerings, right offerings and public company reporting. She is heavily committed to fostering equity and inclusion in the venture space. Ashley earned a Bachelor of Arts in political science from Duke University and a J.D. from Harvard Law School.

Nneka is the Head of Financial Innovation at public company Better, where she advises the tech unicorn on business and legal strategy, new financial technology products, and strategic investments. Nneka previously served as Better's Senior Director of Business and Legal Affairs where she led cross-functional teams in developing innovative solutions to streamline the homeownership process and create an optimal customer experience. Prior to Better, Nneka honed her legal skills as a senior associate at Paul Hastings, where she defended corporations, boards, and the C-suite in complex enforcement actions across multiple jurisdictions. Nneka is also a two-time tech founder, an avid angel investor with capital in 40 startups, and a trusted advisor to various accelerators and venture capital firms. Nneka earned a Bachelor of Arts in Communication & Culture from Howard University and a J.D. from Harvard Law School.
