Designed for senior female leaders operating in high-visibility, high-stakes environments, this masterclass translates negotiation strategy into everyday executive communication. Negotiation is embedded in how leaders speak, make decisions, and hold authority in moments that matter. This session focuses on the subtle but critical behaviors that shape perception, influence outcomes, and determine how far leaders advance. We will focus on: •Executive presence under tension — how leaders are evaluated in moments of discomfort, and how to stay composed without over-accommodating •Decision-making in complex environments — navigating competing priorities, ambiguity, and internal resistance •Communication that holds authority — moving beyond being liked toward being clear, respected, and effective •Crisis and conflict preparedness — preparing in advance for high-pressure moments, whether it is a failed product launch, internal conflict, or a reputational hit, so that responses are fast, measured, and aligned Through real scenarios, language reframes, and practical frameworks, participants will leave with tools to communicate with precision, navigate difficult conversations, and lead with grounded authority in rooms where the stakes are high and the dynamics are nuanced.
Victoria Nelson is a Harvard- and Columbia-trained negotiation expert and founder of Power of the Ask, where she works with leaders and organizations to strengthen communication, navigate high-stakes conversations, and build cultures that engage conflict productively. Victoria advises leaders on power dynamics, clarity of expression and self-advocacy. Her perspective is shaped by both academic training and years spent climbing to the top of New York’s most competitive professional environments. Before focusing solely on negotiation training, she spent nearly two decades in global, reputation-driven creative industries where she successfully navigated contracts, benefits and work dynamics in settings with significant power imbalances. Today, she applies that experience alongside deep research on the most effective negotiation tactics to advise leaders on establishing and maintaining authority and credibility in high-stakes situations. A published author with extensive international press coverage, Victoria is known for translating complex power dynamics into clear, disciplined insight.
