This October, The WIE Suite members gathered in private homes in cities across the country - from Los Angeles to Chicago and San Francisco for our latest Table for Eight series. Senior women leaders from across business and culture came together for an evening of candid conversation, connection and shared perspectives.
Hosted by members of our community, each dinner brought together a carefully curated group of women from different industries and professional backgrounds, with conversations unfolding over a chef-prepared meal in an intimate setting.
This season, we posed a simple question: What doesn't work anymore?
As technology transforms industries and the pace of business accelerates, we invited members to reflect on the workplace conventions, habits and assumptions they were ready to leave behind.
What followed was a fascinating exchange about the changing nature of ambition, leadership and professional success.

Across the tables, women questioned the value of endless meetings, unnecessary bureaucracy and the corporate rituals that can make work more complicated than it needs to be.
There were spirited discussions about generational differences in workplace expectations, the impact of AI on productivity and independent thinking, and the leadership behaviors women have learned to adopt throughout their careers.

But the conversations also ventured well beyond the workplace.
Members spoke about launching businesses in midlife, navigating new professional chapters, balancing demanding careers with family responsibilities and reconsidering what success should look like in the years ahead.

Some of the most meaningful exchanges came from unexpected connections between women working in entirely different fields, discovering shared challenges, complementary expertise and opportunities to support one another.
One theme emerged repeatedly: the women around our tables weren't becoming less ambitious. They were becoming more intentional about how they pursued that ambition.

A special thank you to our generous member hosts for opening their homes and creating the space for such thoughtful exchanges, to everyone who joined us around the table and of course our partners The Culinistas, Una Lou Wine and Urban Stems.

Table for Eight continues to be one of our most distinctive traditions, bringing together exceptional women in settings that encourage the kinds of conversations and connections that rarely happen elsewhere.
We look forward to the next edition.
